Beauties of Estonia (2/12). Silurian Klint

Silurian Klint (also known as Gotland-Saaremaa or Gotland-West-Estonian Klint) is ca 500 km long system of coastal escarpments in Silurian rocks. It begins near the western coast of Gotland in Sweden and runs across the Baltic Sea and along northern coasts of Saaremaa and Muhumaa islands up to the environs of Vändra in Mainland Estonia.

Panga (Mustjala) Cliff on the northern coast of Saaremaa Island is up to 21 m high and up to 2 km long. Ninase (Tangaranna) Cliff near the northernmost point of Ninase Peninsula in northwestern Saaremaa is up to 6 m high. Tupenurme Cliff in northern Muhu Island is only some 3-4 m high and 2 km long.
