Beauties of Estonia (4/12). Waterfalls

In Estonia there are approximately 35 waterfalls or cascades. Among these the ca 30 m high Valaste waterfall is the highest in both Estonia and Baltic Countries. Up to year 1955 the 6.5 m high Narva waterfall was the mightest, but after the Narva Hydroelectric Power Plant was built, it ceased to exist.
Keila waterfall at the Keila River in Harju County is ca 6 m high and during floods about 100 cubic m of water per second falls from the escarpment.
Jägala waterfall at the river of the same name is the most powerful in Estonia. During flood periods up to 200 cubic m of water per second storms down the up to 8 m high escarpment.
